Midstates Recreation, a leading dealer and installer of commercial playground equipment, safety surfacing, shelters, and site amenities for nearly 20 years, announced today that it will promote a new company leadership team, effective May 1, 2024.
Headquartered in Pataskala, Ohio, Midstates Recreation provides innovative and multigenerational recreation solutions for schools, parks, churches, childcare facilities, and commercial campuses to build community and enhance quality of life in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.
Blake Hobson joined the Midstates Recreation ownership group in 2007 and has maintained 100% ownership since 2015. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Blake has led with integrity and prioritized building lasting relationships with partners. As a father, he has experienced the critical importance of inclusion and leads the team by prioritizing this core value in all aspects of the company. He is thoughtfully and strategically developing the next generation of Midstates Recreation with family members working side-by-side to carry on his legacy of humble excellence. Blake will continue to be active in day-to-day operations of Midstates Recreation as President.

James Hobson will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer. James joined Midstates Recreation in 2016 as Director of Business Development. Throughout his tenure at Midstates Recreation, he has played a pivotal role in developing the sales team, expanding our territories, and cultivating relationships with customers and specifiers. He has also been instrumental in the internal development of departments and processes over the past eight years. In his new role, he will oversee ongoing business operations and processes across all departments, organizational development, performance monitoring and team leadership.
Nathan Chamberlin has been named Midstates Recreation’s VP of Sales. Nathan joined Midstates Recreation in 2018 as Marketing Manager. Throughout his tenure at Midstates Recreation, he has played a vital role in the development and expansion of the CAD and bid department. Nathan has also been instrumental in creating and expanding the marketing department and spearheading special internal projects such as ERP, IT, and tradeshows. In his new role he will manage the sales team, customer relationships, and optimization of the sales process.

Stephanie Achevich has been promoted to Controller. Stephanie joined Midstates Recreation in 2023 as Senior Accountant. In her new role she will lead financial reporting, manage the accounting team, and administration of benefits.
Jenny Cash joined Midstates Recreation in January as Director of Business Development after 12 years leading development and strategy for The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis. As Director of Business Development, Cash will lead company growth throughout the four-state territory with strategic marketing and communications, fundraising consultation and capital campaign development, and external brand engagement.

Emerging leaders contributing to the company’s growth include Taylor Jasiewicz, Construction Manager, Micah Masimer, Construction Manager, and Vicki Costamire, Construction Coordinator. Taylor’s playground construction knowledge and experience has been instrumental in leading the team to tackle larger, more complex, and more detailed construction projects. Micah on-site expertise and crew leadership allows for thorough construction processes. Vicki management of project scopes, installation schedules, and construction coordination ensures a seamless installation process and experience for our customers.
